What web safe colors are
The classic web safe palette contains colors built from six channel levels: 00, 33, 66, 99, CC, and FF. This created a predictable 216-color set for older displays.
Are web safe colors still required?
Modern screens and browsers can display millions of colors, so web safe colors are no longer a technical requirement. They are still useful as a simple reference chart and historical design vocabulary.
